Relais delle Picchiaie and its park frame the blue created by the meeting of sea and sky. It is Portoferraio gulf, it is the sky of the Isle of Elba in the Tuscan Archipelago national park.

The hills sorrounding the Picchiaie park are covered with mediterranean vegetation, including the typical pines, live oaks and the wonderful cork oaks, but also cistus, the scented brooms, selvatic lavender, myrtle and the peculiar mastic tree, the arbutus, the broom or selvatic heather and even the rare orchids.

The hills offer suggestive paths in the stainless nature with landscape glimpses that reach all the isles of the Tuscan Archipelago and Corsica.

The isolated position of Relais delle Picchiaie and the street going down for more than 500 m from the main gate, let everyone discover the emotion to listen to the silente, only broken by the cricket chirping, the birds twittering or by the typical green woodpecker tapping, which gives the name to this place.
